Now Where was I?

Man, it's been a loooong time since I updated this thing. What's new? We've moved to Mound, MN and live across the street from beautiful Lake Minnetonka. My brother Stevie and his awesome wife Mary Kate now have a baby boy named Dylan James Trockman. MK gave birth in early January and we couldn't be happier. I haven't had a hair cut in many months. And I guess there are a thousand other things I could mention that have slipped my mind. Meanwhile, I'm still shooting for the St. Cloud Times, our dogs are as crazy as ever, and our Winter is turning in Spring. Here's a photo of me and a kinda wacky gymnastic photo from the state tournament a couple weeks ago.

The Jazz Singer

This is Darlyne Cain. She's a jazz and blues singer/songwriter currently calling Chicago home. I photographed her for a Times assignment a couple weeks ago in St Cloud at the Radisson Hotel. This is an outtake.

Fishnets and Bruises

I've been blogger-incomunicado for some months now. That's basically because I forgot this blog existed. Wait, no, what I mean is that I've been really busy and haven't had time to make any new posts. Or I was in cryo-sleep dreaming of digital sheep and only woke just now.

Anyway, I am now a part-time staff photographer at the St. Cloud Times and having a ball. One recent assignment was to photograph the Minn. Rollergirls in action in St. Paul. Not a bad gig if I say so my damn self.

Introducing Augie Doggy

Stormy wanted to help a Hurricane Katrina doggy to recover after she spent several days last month in Mississippi with animal advocate group Best Friends. Well she got her wish yesterday except the circumstances are a bit different. The Katrina dogs are almost universally in ill-health (go figure) and the adoption process takes many months. So she brought home our new boy Augie instead. Augie is a delight. He's well-behaved, potty-trained and fits easily in small places. Our two other dogs (Pugsy and Angel) have had a couple of conniption fits but otherwise are very accomodating.

Steep and Crazy

Snow began falling in earnest in Colorado yesterday so I thought I'd begin publishing photographs of some of my favorite skiers and their antics. The crazy mofo pictured here is Kris Knippert. I've been friends with Kris for many years. Kris lives in Winter Park, Colorado and believe me, no one looks better on the snow or in the air.

Happy New Year!

Things are crazy in Minneapolis, let me tell ya. Stormy and I spent a wonderful evening with a bunch of family at the Frisch's house to celebrate Rosh Hoshana. And isn't Baby Hayley an awesome sight to behold? She's two weeks old and already has figured out how to manipulate her father. But seriously, she's a gem.

A Lazy Dog Washin' Day

Stormy and I have spent the last several days celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary and my birthday with our families. The weather in Minneapolis lately has been summer-like and just perfect for outdoor endeavors. Pictured above, our female basset hound/lab mix Angel looks content and cuddly - but don't let that fool you. She is a beast! But she's still pretty cute for a beast.

A Smoking Fairy

I went on assignment this evening for the St. Cloud Times. I was covering a rehearsal for the Geritol Frolics in Brainerd. This is a Vaudeville-esque music revue played by actors that are aged 55 to 85 years. The 66 year-old pipe-smoking fairy in the photo is Larry Potter. I shot this in the costume room.
